Game Time Podcast Preview: MMO Player Loses Big-Time Money, @only1mart Appears

According to Joystiq.com, this week a player of the MMO game EVE Online found out why you don't simply cart around over $1500 worth of in-game merch unprotected.

For whatever reason, Ozuwara Ozuwara, in a move that was as perplexing as his repeating name, loaded up the $1500 worth of PLEX (which is essentially 30-day subscriptions to the game's servers), and set sail for the deep dark reaches of space.

Then all Hell broke loose and the next thing he knew, fellow gamer Diorden, made the 84 pieces of PLEX nothing more than space flotsam.

This begs a question or two: WHY ARE PEOPLE SO STUPID? WHO SPENDS $1500 ON IN-GAME MERCH AND THEN DOESN'T PROTECT IT? and IS THERE ANYBODY ALIVE THAT CAN FEEL BAD FOR THIS GUY AFTER THIS BLATANT DISPLAY OF SUTPIDITY?

This Tuesday afternoon, I invite Mart (@only1mart) to Toons Game Time where we will discuss this and other great topics in the world of gaming.

Weight in on this or any other video game topic and we'll include your comments in the show's discussion. Do so by commenting in the comment section below, using the comment section on facebook, emailing your response (in an email OR mp3 format) or hitting Brian up on twitter (@ToonsBrian).

Excuse Our Dust

This week (July 9-13, 2018), I am updating the website. As such, some things may not work or appear exactly as they should during this time.

You may notice that the video game news site RSS feeds that were featured prominently on the previous site are not at the top of the page. As of early Monday, they are not on the page at all. Most of those feeds will be back by the end of the week. Some will not.

One major thing that we've added to the site is the ability to join the discussion via Disqus. There are hundred of sites that already utilize this format so having a Disqus account allows one to comment on any number of websites of literally any number of topics with just one login.

The 1-Up Club has also begun to create content on YouTube, available through the Multimedia tab on our main menu now and on the sidebar by the end of the week. Video versions of The 1-Up Club podcasts will be posted alongside our audio podcasts, hosted on Podbean. This does not include the Johnny Goodti…
